Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Project Coordinator to support our underground gas pipeline service projects.
The ideal candidate will play a vital role in coordinating daily operations, overseeing timelines, ensuring compliance with SP Group/EMA standards, and supporting project managers in the successful delivery of critical utility infrastructure works.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Site Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers to manage gas pipeline service schedules, allocate resources, and coordinate site activities.
- Liaise with SP PowerGas, contractors, and external agencies (LTA, PUB, NEA, etc.) for permits and compliance.
- Conduct site visits to monitor underground works, resolve issues, and ensure safe, high-quality execution.
- Ensure all works involving gas pipe fitting, laying, testing, and commissioning are carried out by certified Gas Pipe Fitters.
Documentation & Compliance
- Prepare, review, and manage project documentation including permits-to-work (PTW), drawings, site plans, inspection records, and safety reports.
- Ensure compliance with SP Group, EMA, and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor adherence to confined space safety, utility protection, and reinstatement requirements.
Logistics & Resource Management
- Assist in procurement of materials and scheduling of equipment for underground pipeline works.
- Track inventory, manpower, and equipment usage to maintain efficiency and cost control.
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to avoid project delays.
Process Improvement & Safety
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow, reduce costs, and strengthen project delivery.
- Recommend innovative solutions to overcome challenges in underground utility projects.
- Enforce workplace safety, risk management procedures, and conduct toolbox meetings.
Requirements
- Education & Experience: Diploma/Degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Utility Engineering.
Minimum 2–3 years' experience in project coordination (preferably in underground utility or gas pipeline projects).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management tools and MS Office (Excel/Word).
Familiarity with SP PowerGas/EMA project procedures and underground utility guidelines.
- Certification: Gas Pipe Fitter Cert (SIPG/SP Group) preferred; CSPM/WSH training (e.g., BCSS, Supervise Work in Confined Space) is an advantage.
- Other Requirements: Possession of a valid driving license.
Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
Excellent command of spoken and written English.
Added Advantage
- Experience in Gas Pipeline Renewal Projects or underground utility coordination.
- Previous experience liaising with SP Group and government agencies for underground works.
