Job Description & Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Road Closure Work:
Prepare and submit road closure & implementation plan to relevant authorities.
Ensure all necessary documentation and approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
Maintain up-to-date records of all permits and related documentation.
Traffic Management:
Prepare and implement traffic management plans for road closure work.
Supervise and coordinate the activities of traffic controllers to ensure safe and efficient traffic flow for construction works.
Monitor and adjust traffic management strategies as needed to address changing conditions.
Site Supervision:
Oversee on-site activities related to road closure and traffic control.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and standards.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and address any issues.
Team Leadership:
Lead and manage teams of traffic controllers, providing guidance and support as needed.
Conduct briefings and debriefings with team members to ensure clear communication and understanding of tasks.
Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.
Communication and Reporting:
Maintain regular communication with project managers, clients, and relevant authorities.
Prepare and submit progress reports, including updates on traffic management activities and any incidents.
Address any client or stakeholder concerns promptly and effectively.
Risk Management:
Identify potential risks related to traffic management and develop mitigation strategies.
Ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that the site is a safe working environment.
Handle any emergencies or unexpected issues that arise during the project.
Qualifications
Education:
Degree in Building or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in traffic engineering or related site work, preferably in road construction projects.
Proven experience in preparing and managing road closure permits.
Skills:
Strong knowledge of traffic management principles and practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and in challenging weather conditions.
Certifications (Preferred):
OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) certification.
Working Conditions
This role requires working on construction sites, which may involve exposure to hot weather conditions and physical demands.
Willingness to work under pressure and adapt to changing site conditions is essential.
