Responsibilities
Overall responsible for the quality and timing of the engineering/technical deliverables for the assigned project.
Manage the design and engineering aspects of the project on behalf of the Company with the objective of delivering an FPSO (or a major FPSO modification) within the agreed budget and schedule, to client and BW Offshore specifications with high uptime, low maintenance and reliable long-term operational performance.
Develop a robust design for the FPSO, complying with contract requirements, specifications, safety standards, regulatory requirements and Company procedures; use drawings/documents/specifications to hand over to Procurement/Construction/Commissioning within the required timeframe and support successors to verify the implementation of design intents.
Lead the entire project engineering team, including Company staff and third parties (subcontractors), including planning, resourcing and managing the engineering organisation to ensure clarity and alignment for all team members.
Act as a mentor and resource for new employees, less experienced colleagues and consultants.
Responsible for Engineering Management, including definition and allocation of tasks with clear accountability, implementation of review/approval processes and schedule/priority management of deliverables, covering all FPSO design/engineering activities including subcontractors and equipment vendors.
Ensure extensive interface with Procurement, Construction and Commissioning processes.
Coordinate with the relevant parties within the client, management, partners, vendors, yards and sub-contractors to clarify and manage expectations for optimal project delivery.
Ensure the highest level of HSE performance within design/engineering aspects of the project, including standard setting, leading by example, communication, monitoring and management of the safety case.
Support the Project Manager with project administration, reporting, cost and schedule control, invoicing, risk management and related activities as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering.
Long relevant experience may replace formal education.
Ideally 15 years of experience within the offshore industry, including previous experience as (deputy or area) engineering manager for at least one substantial and successful (safe, on budget & schedule, high uptime) offshore project either for an oil & gas operator, an FPSO contractor or an offshore EPC contractor.
Any previous FPSO experience will be greatly valued.
International and multi-cultural experience will be preferred.

Fluent in English (oral and written).

The position may require temporary assignments at project premises or on-board units.
The position may require heavy travel and long working hours in peak periods.
