Overview
As a PRS sales lead, you will manage a team of underwriters and be responsible for overall underwriting tasks to achieve PRS portfolio profitability and growth targets, including Masterpiece & Standalone Jewellery products.
This includes reviewing New Business submissions and renewal reviews that require higher levels of authority, and when necessary submitting referrals for regional review.
You will work with internal stakeholders to ensure end-to-end processes (from underwriting to policy issuance) run to expected standards and SLAs, and maintain relationships with distribution channels to drive new business growth and healthy retention rates.
This role involves collaboration with the Business Development team to identify and cultivate new partnerships and farming opportunities within existing accounts.
Responsibilities
- Manage a team of underwriters and be responsible for overall underwriting tasks to achieve PRS portfolio profitability and growth targets, including Masterpiece & Standalone Jewellery products.
Review New Business submissions and renewal reviews requiring higher authority; submit referrals for regional review when necessary.
- Provide high-quality recommendations when underwriting risks evaluated as profitable business opportunities for Chubb.
- Provide guidance, supervision, training and mentorship to the PRS team.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure end-to-end processes (from underwriting to policy issuance) meet expected standards and SLAs.
- Maintain close rapport and relationships with distribution channels (agents, brokers, direct group, sponsor and bancassurance partners) to encourage submission of targeted business for growth and retention; train producers as needed.
- Collaborate with the Business Development team and distribution channels to identify and prospect new partnerships and farming opportunities within existing accounts.
- Responsible for PRS reports management and analysis of revenue and profitability data.
- Identify and implement campaigns that support cross-sell opportunities across Chubb.
- Perform special projects and other related duties to enhance business growth.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree, Business Degree with at least 8 years relevant experience.
- Possess relevant Insurance qualifications or equivalent.
- Demonstrated Personal Lines underwriting ability and technical competence with a minimum of 5 years’ professional underwriting experience.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to evaluate underwriting risks within designated authority.
- Experience in Product Development and Implementation.
- Experience in constructing portfolio analysis (P&L’s, trend mapping, performance reviews) and providing recommended actions/feedback.
- Solid experience dealing with multiple distribution channels (agents, brokers, direct group, sponsor and bancassurance partners).
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with external and internal stakeholders (Chubb personnel locally and regionally).
- Good understanding and working knowledge of the insurance market.
