Job Responsibilities
Procurement & Sourcing
- Manage end-to-end purchasing activities including sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiations, and issuance of purchase orders (POs).
- Proactively source and evaluate new suppliers (local and overseas), focusing on quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
- Negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and service levels without compromising on product quality.
- Review sales orders and purchasing requisitions to determine appropriate sourcing strategies.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with internal policies and relevant regulations.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, particularly those in China (Mandarin communication required).
- Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Liaise with suppliers on delivery schedules, product quality issues, and service improvements.
Process Improvement & Cost Efficiency
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across the supply chain.
- Continuously improve procurement workflows and supplier engagement processes.
- Coordinate shipment schedules and follow up on logistics to ensure timely material delivery.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement or purchasing (experience in the construction/building materials industry is advantageous).
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking Mandarin (required for liaison with Mandarin-speaking suppliers from China).
- Strong negotiation, vendor management, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with procurement or ERP systems is a plus.
