Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a QMS Engineer located in Tuas.
Job scope would be to establish, maintain, and continually improve the company's
Quality Management System (QMS)
in compliance with
IATF 16949
and
ISO 9001
standards, ensuring that precision stamping processes consistently meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1.
Quality Management System (QMS) Administration
- Develop, implement, and maintain the
QMS framework
in alignment with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
- Control and update
QMS documentation
, including procedures, manuals, forms, and records.
- Coordinate and conduct
internal quality audits
; prepare audit plans, checklists, and reports.
- Follow up and verify effectiveness of
corrective and preventive actions (CAR/PAR)
.
- Support
management review meetings
, including data collection, KPI tracking, and preparation of QMS performance reports.
2.
Process and System Compliance
- Ensure production, engineering, and quality operations comply with IATF 16949 requirements.
- Work closely with manufacturing and stamping departments to identify process risks and implement
Process Control Plans
and
FMEA updates
.
- Ensure adherence to
documented work instructions
, calibration schedules, and traceability requirements.
- Lead
change management
activities within the QMS framework to maintain document integrity and system consistency.
3.
Customer, Supplier, and Audit Management
- Serve as the
QMS representative
during
customer and third-party audits
.
- Coordinate
IATF 16949 certification and surveillance audits
, ensuring timely closure of findings.
- Conduct
supplier QMS audits
and evaluate supplier performance against quality standards.
- Manage
customer-specific QMS requirements
and ensure alignment across departments.
4.
Continuous Improvement & Data Analysis
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and problem prevention throughout the organization.
- Monitor and analyze
quality KPIs
, such as internal rejection rate, audit findings, and corrective actions.
- Facilitate improvement projects using tools like
8D, 5-Why, PDCA, and FMEA
.
- Support implementation of
Lean and Six Sigma
initiatives to reduce waste and variation in stamping processes.
5.
Training & Awareness
- Conduct
QMS and IATF 16949 awareness training
for staff at all levels.
- Support onboarding training for new employees on quality policies, procedures, and documentation control.
- Ensure personnel understand their roles in achieving quality objectives and maintaining system compliance.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in
Mechanical / Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering
or related discipline.
- At least
3–5 years of experience
in
Quality or QMS Engineering
within a
precision stamping or automotive manufacturing
environment.
- Strong knowledge of
IATF 16949
,
ISO 9001
,
APQP
,
PPAP
,
SPC
, and
MSA
requirements.
- Proficient in
FMEA
,
Control Plan
,
Process Flow
, and document control systems.
- Experience in conducting and leading
internal/external audits
.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills (Advantageous)
- Certified
Internal Auditor
for IATF 16949.
- Experience with
customer-specific requirements
(e.g., Honda, Toyota, Continental, Bosch).
- Knowledge of
