Role Overview
The Quality Assurance Associate (IT & Operations) is responsible for ensuring that the bank’s IT systems, operational processes, and controls function effectively, efficiently, and in compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
The role involves conducting independent quality checks, process reviews, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives across both technology and operations departments.
Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Reviews
Conduct periodic QA reviews on IT and Operations processes to assess effectiveness, compliance, and consistency.
Perform sample testing on system changes, transaction processing, and operational controls.
Validate that process documentation and control evidence are complete, accurate, and updated.
Monitor adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and service-level standards.
IT Quality Assurance
Review IT change management, incident management, and user access control processes.
Validate testing evidence for new system releases, patches, and upgrades.
Ensure system configurations, interfaces, and data integrity meet QA standards.
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) validation and post-implementation reviews.
Work closely with IT security, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure quality in development and operations.
Operations Quality Assurance
Conduct QA checks on daily operations (e.g., transaction processing, settlements, and record maintenance).
Identify control gaps or process inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
Review exception handling, escalation, and reporting processes to ensure timeliness and accuracy.
Validate data accuracy in key operational systems and reports.
Continuous Improvement & Root Cause Analysis
Analyse recurring QA findings and perform root cause analysis (RCA) to identify systemic issues.
Collaborate with process owners to implement corrective actions and process enhancements.
Track, monitor, and report QA metrics, repeat issues, and remediation progress.
Provide root cause analysis on the findings issued.
Develop process improvement initiatives to enhance operational and IT effectiveness.
Governance, Reporting & Documentation
Maintain QA workpapers, review logs, and findings register.
Prepare QA summary reports and present findings to management and committees.
Track corrective actions through closure and validate the effectiveness of remediation.
Contribute to the bank’s overall QA framework, policy updates, and risk assessments.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in computer science/business/finance or equivalent experience.
4-6 years of experience in quality assurance or audit in IT & operations.
Excellent communications skills with the ability to operate independently.
Experience and comfortable in establishing relationships with different departments.
Self‐motivated and a good team player.
