Job Summary
We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to support on-site Quality Clinic operations within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
This is a highly physical, shopfloor-intensive role focused on the handling, movement, and processing of non-conforming materials (NCMs).
The ideal candidate must demonstrate a proactive approach, strong communication skills, and experience in quality processes within fast-paced production environments.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):
· Non-Conforming Material Handling (Shopfloor Focus)
· Review and validate non-conformance (NC) data submitted by inspectors.
· Physically retrieve non-conforming materials from the shop floor for review.
· Move parts between inspection areas, holding zones, and disposition lanes.
· Execute Quality Notification (QN) actions: tagging, segregation, traceability.
· Coordinate with downstream teams for post-disposition processing.
· Enforce FIFO (First-In-First-Out) practices to prevent backlog and delays.
Quality Clinic Operations
· Maintain & control of non-conforming parts within the Quality Clinic.
· Provide hands-on support during disposition decisions: use-as-is, rework, repair, scrap.
· Maintain accurate tracking and logging of QNs both physically and in the system throughout their entire lifecycle.
· Assist in MRB (Material Review Board) activities via real-time part visibility and staging.
· Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications for defect validation.
· Support RCCA (Root Cause & Corrective Action) activities for recurring NCs.
· Strong physical presence on the shop floor and this is not a desk-bound role.
· Familiarity with aero-engine parts, manufacturing processes, and shopfloor protocols.
· Effective communication with inspectors, supervisors, and production teams.
· Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, Solumina) for QN tracking.
· Proficient in MS Office tools (Excel, Word) for documentation and reporting.
