Roles & Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Quantity Surveyor to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cost management, contract administration, and project support to ensure efficiency and value throughout the construction process.
Key Responsibilities
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain competitive quotations.
- Review and interpret project specifications, technical drawings, and related documents.
- Conduct meetings and negotiations with stakeholders regarding unit rates, schedules, claims, specifications, drawings, scope of works, and variations.
- Prepare and submit upstream payment claims and respond to downstream payment applications.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of variations; monitor and evaluate project variations.
- Support the project team with cost control, reporting, and other ad-hoc duties as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building Construction, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in the construction industry.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills; able to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience as a Project Engineer.
- Proactive, hands-on, and capable of handling multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends, when necessary.
