R&D Engineer (Video or Audio Standardization Researcher)
We invite enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join us as a member of our R&D team focusing on innovation and technology.
Responsibilities:
Conduct research in cutting‐edge AI technologies for audio/video quality and compression.
Build reproducible ML training and evaluation pipelines and run rigorous objective and perceptual assessments.
Represent Panasonic in standardization activities and industry forums; network with peers to build consensus and identify collaboration opportunities.
Collaborate closely with cross‐functional teams (research, product, IP) and global labs; build strong working relationships to align goals and timelines.
Analyze technology trends and recommend future research directions and roadmap updates.
Requirements:
Good Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
Strong foundations in signal processing and applied algorithm development for audio/image/video.
Practical experience building and evaluating neural network models for audio/image/video tasks (e.g., enhancement, restoration, compression‐related modules).
Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming languages with solid software engineering practices.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Self‐driven, collaborative and outcome‐oriented team player.
Comfortable with a hybrid work model and occasional international travel.
