Job description

Roles & Responsibilities

We represent a well-known German company that specializes in electrical interconnection, automation and interface technology.

They are currently in the process of setting up a R&D Competence Center in Singapore with focus on sensor technology and power electronics for serving the energy, building and EV sectors.

As part of its expansion, our client is seeking talented professional to them in an exciting new role.

R&D Hardware Engineer – Sensor development

Key Responsibilities:


• Create the design of analog sensors and energy meters, with a focus in hardware electronics design to ensure meeting design specifications and performance targets, especially products utilizing magnetic sensing.


• Apply proficiency in PCB analog signal processing to develop and implement filtering and amplification techniques for precision data extraction.


• PCB component selection, schematic design and layout concept/guideline with consideration of high performance, low power consumption, and reliability.


• Conduct prototype testing, troubleshooting, and support validation/qualification, including EMC and safety certifications


• Participate in the complete development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, testing, debugging, and documentation


• Collaboration in international activities relevant for the development of the Business Unit


• Collaborate with external R&D institutes and universities to develop innovative sensor and energy metering solutions


• Monitor relevant technological developments in the areas of Sensors, Energy Meters and Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC)

Requirements:


• University degree in the field of electronic engineering, sensor technologies, power electronics or a comparable qualification


• Minimum of 5 years of experience in PCB based analog design


• Sound knowledge of analog, digital and power electronics principles


• Familiar with communication interface such as I2C, SPI, RS485, etc.


• Basic knowledge of MCU firmware and programming language such as C, C++


• Experience with PCB design CAD software such as Cadence, Altium


• Creating scripts for automated product verification testing is a plus


• Innovative spirit and passion for energy-based topics, technologies and trends


• High problem-solving skills and hands-on experience with general lab testing equipment/tool


• Self-motivated and proactive working attitude and a good team player


• Strong communication and persuasion skills at different stakeholder levels


• High methodical and social competence as well as the ability to moderate dynamic group processes
