Job description

Research Assistant (Centre for Sleep & Cognition)
National University of Singapore invites applications for a research assistant/associate in the Multimodal Neuroimaging in Neuropsychiatric Disorders Laboratory (MNNDL), a laboratory that studies the neural bases of cognitive functions and neuropsychiatric disorders using multimodal neuroimaging, psychophysical techniques, and machine learning.


Location: Kent Ridge Campus, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.


Main Duties and Responsibilities
Recruit and screen study participants, and conduct behavioral and neuropsychological testing.


Collect neuroimaging data using 3T Prisma MRI scanners and MR-compatible digital EEG.


Preprocess, process, and analyze neuroimaging and behavioral data with state‐of‐the‐art scripts and statistical/machine learning methods.


Maintain computing servers, storage, and neuroimaging equipment, and administer the neuroimaging database.


Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and database management for ongoing research projects.


Collaborate with clinical collaborators across Singapore institutions and contribute to presentations and publications.


Qualifications
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in neuroscience, psychology, life science, engineering, or computing with strong interest in neuroimaging.


Excellent written and oral communication skills.


Prior programming experience in medical image analysis or database management (e.g., MATLAB, shell, Python) is a plus but not required.


Organized, reliable, self‐motivated, able to multitask efficiently, and willing to commit for at least two years.


Remuneration and Benefits
Salary and benefits are commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Appointments are on a two‐year contract basis with the possibility of extension.

The laboratory offers access to a high‐performance computing cluster, two 3T Prisma MR scanners, an MR‐compatible digital EEG system, and collaborations with an international scientific network.
