The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Assistant to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology’s newly established Core Support Faculty.
The Department is dedicated to providing excellent and affordable care to patients, and supports patient care through best-in-class medical practices informed by insights from cutting-edge clinical and translational research.

The Core Support Faculty will be comprised of a Senior Research Fellow, a Bioinformatics Specialist and a Clinical Research Co-Ordinator / Clinical Research Assistant (clinical study recruitment, ethical approvals, data collection and management, sample acquisition).
The successful applicant will work closely with the other Core Support Faculty members to establish a strong team environment focused on productivity, collaboration and service.
The role involves working across the NUS and NUH campuses to support nascent research projects and to develop preliminary data, publications, funding applications and investigator expertise to launch the careers of clinicians and basic scientists in obstetric and gynaecological research.
Appointments will be made on a one (1) year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension for very high performing staff.
Purpose of the post
The Core Support Faculty aims to drive research productivity and opportunity for emerging researchers, with a focus on promoting the careers and productivity of junior investigators (both clinician scientists and translationally focused basic scientists).
Key deliverables include rapid generation of high-impact publications, securing competitive grant funding, increasing uptake of higher research degree candidacies (especially PhDs), providing technical training to the Department, and supporting clinical trials.
The successful applicant will report to the Director of Research and work with junior investigators across obstetric and gynaecological disciplines, as well as senior Department members including Visiting Professors.
The role requires close collaboration with other Core Support Faculty members to maintain a productive, collaborative, service-oriented environment.
The successful applicant must be results-driven, self-directing, and capable of performing at a very high level.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Research Assistant Will Be Responsible For
Oversee the general management of delegated projects.
Provide administrative and secretarial support to delegated projects, including organizing regular meetings to maintain communication with other research team members and collaborating with study sites and other stakeholders.
Handle day-to-day running of projects at the study site, including collaboration with team members at study sites, recruitment, data collection, sample collection and management at hospital sites.
Conduct literature searches, perform data entry with SPSS, analyze data and maintain trial databases, and assist in preparing progress and final project reports.
Maintain high standards of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures.
Manage ethical submissions and ongoing compliance, including PDPA.
Assist in drafting papers and funding applications.
Demonstrate the ability to multitask across multiple projects within the department.
Coordinate grants related to Clinical Research and other research types.
Provide logistics and administrative support.
Assist with other duties as delegated by the PI or supervisors.
Qualifications
The successful applicant should:
Have a Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field, nursing or equivalent; CRC experience with a track record of supporting successful studies is advantageous.
Be able to work meticulously, independently and as part of a team.
Have a good understanding of GCP and familiarity with research principles.
Have knowledge of computer applications, e.g., SPSS, MS Office, PowerPoint.
