Research Assistant (Quantum Communications and Security)
Join the Centre for Quantum Technologies (CQT) at the National University of Singapore as a Research Assistant to support the management of the Dieter Schwarz Professorship on Quantum Communications and Security.
The CQT is a research centre that brings together physicists, computer scientists, and engineers to do basic research on quantum physics and to build devices based on quantum phenomena.
The centre offers a friendly and international work environment with some 200 staff and students.
The successful candidate will support the activities of the research teams under the Professorship and Exchange Programme, as well as the Strongly Enhanced Nonlinear Interaction using Optical Resonators (SENIOR) project.
The Candidate Is Expected To:
- Support expense management for the research teams participating within the Exchange Programme.
- Support budget tracking for the research teams, including interfacing with various administrative departments within the university.
- Support management of relevant documentation for the Professor and research teams.
- Support the onboarding of new staff, including maintenance of their safety records and laser licenses.
- Act as first contact for administrative questions by research teams, and to liaise with various administrative departments within the university for follow-up action.
- Organize visitor flight and accommodation arrangements.
- Support the organization of local events supported by the Professorship and Exchange Programme.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings of the Professor and research teams
Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- 2 years of relevant experience; candidates with no experience are also welcome to apply
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Experience in budget tracking will be an added advantage
