R The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), a partnership between Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and Imperial College London (Imperial) is training doctors who put patients at the centre of their exemplary care.
In line with the School’s vision of redefining medicine and transforming healthcare, the motivation of LKCMedicine’s research is to shape future medicine and healthcare through disruptive discoveries and inventions that are of national and global impact.
The five key research foci at LKCMedicine are:
Neuroscience and Mental Health,
Population/Global Health, Respiratory and Infectious Diseases,
Nutrition, Metabolism & Health and Skin Diseases and Wound Repair, strategic programmes that directly address Singapore’s healthcare challenges of tomorrow, including caring for its rapidly ageing population.
Intersecting with these programmes are cross-cutting themes such as
Data Science, Developmental Biology & Regenerative Medicine and Microbiome Medicine for which we have unique strengths.Primary Care and Family Medicine at LKC Medicine is a dynamic and growing multidisciplinary group with expertise in general practice, qualitative research, statistics, clinical trials, health services research and implementation science.
It aims to deliver high quality research designed to inform policy and practice and to improve health outcomes.
The department supports and promotes the involvement of patients and the public in health research through the Office of Patient Engagement (OPEN), and works closely with primary healthcare professionals through the Singapore Primary Care Research and Knowledge (SPARK) Network and our partners at NHG Polyclinics.
We have a strong focus on behavioural research through our collaboration with multidisciplinary partners including The Asian Centre for Health Behavioural Insights & Interventions (HABITS) and Centre for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (C-AIM).
This is a great opportunity to work in a supportive research environment with opportunities for professional development, including workshops and skills development.Key Responsibilities:Research, data analysis and interpretation* Contribute to the design, data collection, analysis and interpretation of quantitative, qualitative and co-design studies* Undertake literature reviews and systematic reviews* Project management of program of work, ensuring study deliverables, reports and publications are completed punctually according to study and grant timelines* Prepare reports, presentation and manuscripts for publication in peer reviewed publication and lay statementsAdministration* Ensure all work processes met the ethical standards of the University, Singapore Good Clinical Practice Guidelines and other applicable regulatory and ethical requirementsCollaboration and communication* Work effectively with key stakeholder groups, including patients and clinicians to achieve project and program outcomes* Contribute to grants, manuscripts, reports, reviews, abstracts, posters and oral presentations with collaborators* Assist in communications with institutional review board staff regarding ethics applications, amendments and reports* Work collaboratively with PI to develop and achieve research outputsRequired educational qualification, experience, skills and competencies:* Bachelors (for Assistant) or Masters (for Associate) degree in sociology, behavioural science, co-design, health services research, implementation science or a related discipline e.g. medicine, nursing, allied health, public health, social science, statistics* Design of research projects using a range of methods* Competent in using software packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, statistical packages, NVivoHiring Institution: LKCNTU is also home to world-class autonomous institutes – the National Institute of Education, S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Earth Observatory of Singapore, and Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering – and various leading research centres such as the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute (NEWRI) and Energy Research Institute @ NTU ( ).Ranked amongst the world’s top universities by QS, NTU has also been named the world’s top young university for the past seven years.
