The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking to hire a Research Associate to conduct research in Additive Manufacturing research on Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) process and Laser Tec 65 DED process.
The Research Associate is expected to have experience on both WAAM and LaserTec 65 DED manufacturing processes.
The scope of work will be to execute experimental research programme in Materials-Process-Performance assessment for tensile, and fatigue test performance targets for a range of feedstock wires and powder materials.
Key Responsibilities:
To design-built-test WAAM materials for tensile and fatigue tests (In718, Ti64, 316L)
To design-built-test LaserTec 65 materials for tensile and fatigue tests (In718, Ti64, 316L)
To write technical report and journal papers for the abovementioned experiments.
Job Requirements:
Education qualifications – BEng and MEng
Soft skills – Data Analytics, Technical writing for research reports
Hard skills – Metal 3D Printing skills
Experience – WAAM and DED-Lasertec 65 fabrication process experience
Competencies – capable of leading AM projects
