Job Description
The Cancer Science Institute of Singapore (CSI) at the National University of Singapore is seeking a highly motivated and capable Research Associate to support advanced research in cancer biology and related biomedical fields.
The successful candidate will be expected to work independently, contribute intellectually to ongoing research projects, and support collaborative scientific efforts in the lab.
Duties & Responsibilities
Experimental Research: Conduct and troubleshoot experiments using techniques such as molecular biology, cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopy, and biochemical assays.
Experimental Research: Optimise and adapt protocols to address project needs and improve data reproducibility.
Experimental Research: Maintain detailed, accurate records of experimental work.
Data Analysis & Scientific Communication: Perform data analysis and interpretation using appropriate software and tools.
Data Analysis & Scientific Communication: Assist in the preparation of figures, tables, reports, and manuscripts for publication.
Data Analysis & Scientific Communication: Contribute to literature reviews and grant proposal development.
Laboratory & Collaborative Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and students.
Laboratory & Collaborative Support: Help maintain overall laboratory organisation, including inventory and safety protocols.
Laboratory & Collaborative Support: Support collaborative efforts within CSI and with external partners.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field.
At least 2 years of research experience in a laboratory setting.
Strong technical skills, analytical thinking, and problem-solving ability.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
