The research associate will be working on machine learning (ML) models and automation for optimizing optical setups at the centre.
The key job responsibilities are listed below:
- The research staff is expected to work with the PI and other team members for doing R & D and take key role for the automation of the systems for bioimaging and metrology
- Implement computer vision and machine learning, deep learning techniques for real-time diagnostics.
- Conduct and coordinate research within NTU and collaborating partners in line with its research strategy under the supervision of the PIs and collaborators
- Publish research outcomes in journals of international standing; Attend and present research findings and papers at academic meetings and contribute to the external visibility of the centre.
- Draft research reports for PIs and undertake specific roles and management functions as may be reasonably required by the PIs.
Requirements:
- Master in Robotics, Automation, Data science, Mechanical Engineering, Precision Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Physics or a similar discipline with optics and instrumentation background
- Previous experience in machine learning, automation, and optics are desirable
- Possess good programming and automation skills (e.g. C++, MATLAB, Python, LabVIEW, Arduino, Raspberry Pi or FPGA-based controllers)
- Expertise in developing robotics and motion control systems is beneficial
- Proven publication track record would be an advantage
- Expertise in optical instrumentation would be an advantage (e.g. Zemax, TracePro, Virtual Lab, OSLO, MATLAB, Python, ImageJ)
- Proficiency in written and spoken English for research work.
