As part of NSTIC Advanced Photonics team, the candidate will be involved in the development of testing capability for components and system testing related to advanced photonic devices, such as passive photonic devices and optoelectronic devices.
You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team working on advanced photonics.
Responsibilities
Operate/ build optical measurement setup for various photonic device measurements
Perform characterization of photonics devices, data analysis and documentation
Writing of scripts/codes to increase measurement efficiency
Laboratory management including facilities, health and safety, equipment calibration, inventory and stocktake, procurement activities
Collaborate with project team to ensure quality and on-time delivery for various projects
Depending on performance, responsibility can expand towards photonics device design
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Applied Physics, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Opto-electronics or equivalent
Experience with experimental data acquisition and analysis
Experience with free-space optics, opto-mechanics, fiber-based components, and common measurement instruments is a plus
Strong skills in problem-solving, communication and providing technical presentations
Skillsets in programming or instrument automation is a plus
Depending on projects, might require to travel at times (within Singapore) or overseas
Values teamwork, willing to learn and impart knowledge unto others
Ability to work on multiple projects and adapt depending on project priorities
