Job description

The Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) is a University Research Institute at Nanyang Technological University Singapore that conducts fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, towards safer and more sustainable societies.


The Climate Transformation Programme (CTP) aims to develop, inspire and accelerate knowledge-based solutions and educate future leaders to establish the stable climate and environment necessary for resilient, just, and sustainable Southeast Asian societies.


CTP will generate knowledge and innovation across disciplines including climate and Earth science, ecology, materials science, artificial intelligence, humanities, social sciences and the arts, finance, health, and engineering.

It will also translate state-of-the-art scientific results into real world solutions for Singapore, and it will transfer these solutions to Southeast Asia (SEA) and beyond.


As part of this programme, “Cluster 6.

Climate and Human Health”, will predict the future impacts of climate change on human health.


The Research Fellow will work with the PI of the Climate and Human Health cluster, Assoc Prof Konstadina Griva, based in the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and will lead several projects related to public perceptions of climate change and health, and health communication strategies in the context of climate change.


Key Responsibilities:
Literature searches and manuscript preparation
Data collection using mixed methodology
Statistical analyses and evidence synthesis
Drafting of progress report(s) and final research report
Research publications and presentations, and dissemination of the results
Administrative work associated with the program of research as necessary
Job Requirements:
PhD degree in psychology, social sciences, or health-related disciplines
Demonstrate solid foundation in statistical analysis (e.g., SPSS, R, STATA)
Desired: prior experience in systematic review and evidence synthesis
Desired: prior research experience in environmental health and health psychology
As position requires stakeholder engagement in English, candidate must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English.


Demonstrate initiative and good interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Evidence of being able to work both independently and collaboratively, with a strong sense of team spirit
