has multiple Interdisciplinary Research Programmes which focus on translational Research, Development & Deployment which focus on specific area of the energy value chain, and a number of Living labs and Testbeds which facilitate large scale technology deployment enabling validation and demonstration of real-world applications.For more details, please viewWe are looking for a Research Fellow to advance the development of grid-forming converters and control algorithms for next-generation renewable and energy storage systems.
The role will focus on control design, simulation, and experimental validation to support system stability, interoperability, and compliance with emerging grid standards.**Key Responsibilities:*** Design and develop control algorithms for grid-forming converters.* Conduct simulation and experimental validation using real-time and laboratory testbeds.* Ensure system compliance with relevant standards and grid codes.* Prepare technical reports and deliverables for project sponsors.* Mentor undergraduate and postgraduate students involved in the project.* Contribute to research publications and grant proposals.**Job Requirements:*** PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field, with specialization in power electronics or converter control.* Strong experience in converter design, control, and testing, preferably with grid-forming technologies.* Proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or Altium Designer.* Good understanding of grid codes, standards, and system integration of renewables or energy storage.* Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.Hiring Institution: NTUNTU is also home to world-class autonomous institutes – the National Institute of Education, S Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Earth Observatory of Singapore, and Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering – and various leading research centres such as the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute (NEWRI) and Energy Research Institute @ NTU ( ).Ranked amongst the world’s top universities by QS, NTU has also been named the world’s top young university for the past seven years.
