Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced full stack developer position in the Intelligent Digital and Molecular Pathology (iDMP) at the A*STAR Bioinformatics Institute (BII) in Singapore.



Our iDMP team is dedicated to the development of new solutions in pathology field.

Currently, we are expanding our team and seeking enthusiastic talent developer to join us!

General requirements:

  • Self motivated developer/M.E. or M.Sc. graduate to pursue an Artificial Intelligent (AI), Bif data and cloud based software development career.

    Independent and passionate about clinical/biomedical imaging projects.

  • Good team player.

    Able to undertake independent software development and AI algorithm projects under the direction of the PI together with other lab members.

  • Hold a bachelor/master degree in a relevant field.

  • Good general knowledge and concept of science and engineering.

  • Excellent scientific/technical writing skills and communication capability.

  • Prior experience in working with pathology imaging projects (Industrial or academic) is a value add, such IHC imaging, H&E imaging and Multiplex immunofluorescence imaging.

  • Specific technical requirements:

  • Excellent experience, knowledge, and skills in two following scientific programming languages, i.e., Matlab and Python.

  • Excellent knowledge and skills in front end and the backend of cloud application.

  • Proficiency with fundamental front end languages such as HTML, CSS, JSON and JavaScript.

  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular JS, React, and Amber is a plus, but not compulsory.

  • Proficiency with server side languages such as Python, Java, and PHP.

  • Familiarity with database technology such as MySQL.

  • Rigid and logical thinking of scientific and software development problems.

  • General understanding of image processing, machine learning, and artificial intelligence is a plus, but not compulsory.


  • Basic knowledge of cell biology or pathology is a value add.


  • Present research achievements at internal/external seminars and conferences is a value add.
