NTFGH is a member of the National University Health System (NUHS).

The division of neurosurgery in NTFGH is one of the leading tertiary neurosurgery units in Singapore and serves as a referral centre for the western region.

We provide a comprehensive range of open and minimally invasive neurological and spinal procedures for both brain and spinal conditions.

Currently, the division of neurosurgery in NTFGH is welcoming candidates who are motivated to embark on a challenging and rewarding position with us as Resident Physician (RP) .

Successful candidates will benefit from an established path of career and professional progression.

Clinical Duties

RPs are expected to be involved in direct patient care such as outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, performing on-call duties as well as participating in both elective and emergency operating sessions under supervision.

Education

RPs are expected to participate in ward rounds and divisional teachings such as journal clubs and residents teaching as well as multi-disciplinary meetings such as clinicopathological discussions and virtual meetings with international partners.

NTFGH is a teaching university hospital and we have a strong passion to teach and engage our medical students.

As part of the team, you will impart your valuable practical skills and knowledge to medical students.

Research

As a member of NUHS, you have the opportunity to collaborate with various medical specialists and clinical researchers within our healthcare cluster which includes faculties in the National University of Singapore (NUS).

Administrative Roles

RPs will have the opportunity to participate in coordination, planning and organisation of the division which serves to maintain efficiency of the team.

Further Professional Development

Our team is well-acquainted with renowned international university institutions such as Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge, the Leeds Teaching Hospitals, and University College London Hospitals, with opportunities for fellowships.

RPs will be primed to undertake specialty fellowship examinations.

Our commitment to you is your development as a well-rounded, academic neurosurgical doctor.

Interested candidates must have a basic medical degree from an accredited medical university or medical school which is registrable with the Singapore Medical Council (SMC).

Candidates should preferably have obtained a post-graduate diploma qualification – Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) – or its equivalent.
