Position Overview
The Assistant Retail Manager supports the Retail Manager in the day-to-day operations of the store, ensuring smooth business performance, excellent customer service, and achievement of sales targets.
This role involves supervising staff, managing stock, and maintaining brand standards while fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Key Responsibilities

Store Operations
- Assist in managing daily store activities to ensure smooth operations.
- Oversee store opening, closing, and cash handling procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, operational guidelines, and health & safety regulations.

Sales & Customer Service
- Support the Retail Manager in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Provide exceptional customer service, handle escalated customer queries and complaints effectively.
- Train and guide staff to deliver high service standards.
3.
Team Supervision & Training
- Assist in scheduling, supervising, and motivating retail staff.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Support in recruitment and onboarding of new team members.

Inventory & Merchandising
- Monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock counts, and liaise with the warehouse team for replenishment.
- Ensure correct product display, pricing, and promotional setups in line with brand guidelines.
- Minimize stock loss through proper security measures and loss prevention strategies.
5.
Reporting & Administration
- Assist in preparing daily/weekly/monthly sales reports.
- Monitor KPIs and recommend improvements to drive store performance.
- Handle store administration tasks, including staff attendance records and operational paperwork.
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Business, Retail Management, or related field (preferred).
- 2–3 years of retail experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or assistant manager role.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to drive sales and manage store operations.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Willing to work on weekends, public holidays, and shift schedules.
