The Middle School MYP Coordinator at Stamford American International School works closely with the High School MYP Coordinator, the Director of Teaching and Learning and other IB Coordinators.
They maintain oversight of the academic elements of the Middle School, working alongside the Middle School faculty to develop and implement the units and assessments, whilst maintaining the continuity and coherence in the academic pathways throughout the school.
In addition to working with the Schoolwide Curriculum Team, they work closely with the Middle School Principal and Middle School Leadership team, providing an MYP and Teaching and Learning perspective on the school’s planning and direction.
Major areas of responsibility include overall programme development, implementation of the Stamford Pedagogical Framework, curriculum oversight and coherence, implementation and planning for professional development including coaching and mentoring of teachers within the programme.
The MYP Coordinator may also have a teaching role.
