This role will be based onsite 5 days per week in our Singapore office.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The role of the Sales Trader is to provide a continuous daily mix of exceptional business development, relationship management, as well as provide execution services and risk management to the most valuable clients of CMC.
By achieving this high level of service the desired aim is to maximise Premium Client retention, along with growing and improving CMC’s business through a mix of client referrals and networking.
CMC Markets Sales Trading desk boasts the lead position for premier services of its type in the Singapore CFD retail derivatives industry.
Business Development & Account Management
Develop and implement strategies to grow HNW retail and Accredited Investor trading volumes in the Singapore office.Own and drive the sales trading proposition, working with the sales team to enhance client acquisition, retention, and trading activity.Proactively generate business through networking, referrals, seminars, and industry events, creating tailored materials as needed.Provide high-quality relationship management to premium clients, ensuring a positive and customized trading experience.Respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring a seamless client lifecycle from onboarding to retention.Identify opportunities to educate clients on products and services, continuously improving service offerings.Maintain strong market knowledge to support execution trading and provide relevant insights to clients.Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Trading, Business Operations) to optimize client experience and platform improvements.Foster client relationships through regular engagement, including out-of-hours hospitality events when needed.Work with the Executive Committee to meet revenue targets and drive business/marketing strategies.Act as the internal and external expert on products and platforms, providing education and demonstrations as required.Media & Compliance
Provide ad-hoc media commentary (written and verbal) for PR purposes, including television, radio, and written formats.Deliver insightful market commentary to promote the service and enhance media presence.Adhere to local and global compliance guidelines, ensuring all activities meet relevant regulations.Maintain professional development through ongoing regulatory and legislative training.Ensure all customer and colleague interactions are clear, fair, and consistent, upholding a professional image of CMC Markets.Safeguard confidentiality and comply with privacy, GDPR, and SMCR requirements.Product Management
Be the product and platform expert for both internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to competently demonstrate and educate clients in its use.KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
3-5 years of experience in derivatives and financial sales.Proven success in B2C and B2B business development.Ability to bring an existing book of clients is highly desirable.Comfortable working in a high-pressure, target-driven environment.Strong knowledge of global financial markets and asset classes.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numeracy skills.Clear communication of complex financial concepts, both written and verbal.Strong telephone and interpersonal skills.Highly motivated with excellent organization and time management.Tertiary degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.Proven ability to trade accurately and efficiently on behalf of clients.Familiarity with platform and phone dealing processes.Ability to communicate client orders to sales traders and dealers.KEY OBJECTIVES/KPIS
