Key Responsibilities:
- Perform SAP system installations, upgrades, patching, and landscape maintenance
- Administer SAP databases (e.g. HANA, MSSQL) and ensure system health and performance
- Monitor systems, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance
- Manage transports, system backups, and disaster recovery planning and testing
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud service, and functional teams
- Handle user administration, role assignments, and security configurations
- Provide on-call support for production systems as part of a support rotation
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, procedures, and enhancements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in SAP Basis administration, including installations, upgrades, and ongoing system support
- Proficient with databases such as SAP HANA and MaxDB, with the ability to perform essential administration tasks.
- Experience with operating systems such as Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, UNIX variants, and Windows Server, with the ability to perform basic OS administration tasks relevant to SAP Basis, including file system maintenance and monitoring system resources such as active processes and disk space usage.
- Familiarity with SAP Solution Manager and landscape administration across multiple environments (DEV, QA, PROD); hands-on experience is a strong plus.
- Proficient in performance tuning, system adjustments, and ensuring overall SAP system stability and efficiency
- Knowledge of cloud-hosted SAP environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is an advantage
- Strong problem-solving skills, including conducting root cause analysis, maintaining clear technical documentation, and communicating effectively with cross-functional teams
