[What the role is]

School of Engineering - Lecturer (Common Engineering Programme)

[What you will be working on]

•    Develop curriculum and deliver lessons to full-time diploma (PET) students in areas of Mathematics, Statistics, Programming as well as other Engineering disciplines.
•    Develop and conduct Continuing Education and Training (CET) courses for adult learners.
•    Handle administrative work relating to teaching and managing modules which include crafting and marking assessments.
•    Lead or participate in academic research projects, data analysis projects, R&D/Implementation projects and/or poly-wide projects.
•    Enhance students’ learning through activities such as supervising projects and internships, training students for competitions, and leading them on educational programmes, students' overseas trips or service-learning events.
•    Support students in providing pastoral care and guidance.
•    Involve in school activities such as outreach events and similar activities.

[What we are looking for]

•    A qualification in Engineering or related discipline.
•    Preferably with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience in the Engineering field.
•    Strong interest in the development of curriculum especially for Mathematics, Statistics and/or Programming.
•    Technically competent, as well as have a passion and genuine interest to share knowledge and interact with youth and adults.
•    Have experience in Data Analytics (hands-on data manipulation, data modelling and data visualisation).
•    Have experience in using Statistical Modelling tools such as R, Python, MATLAB or SPSS and Visual Analytics Technologies such as Tableau or Power BI.
•    Have strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with management and colleagues.
•    Possess sound planning, organising, writing and multi-tasking skills, with a strong sense of commitment and responsibility for completing assigned tasks on time.
•    Highly motivated, and able to work independently and in a team.
