School of Hospitality - Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Events & Project Management)

[What you will be working on]

As a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Diploma in Events & Project Management, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of event professionals equipped with versatile strategic and operational competencies.

Your responsibilities extend beyond teaching to encompass nurturing students' potential, developing curriculum, and fostering industry partnerships. 

•    Initiate and facilitate industry projects, focusing on events and project management, with an emphasis on large-scale entertainment events, concerts and festivals.

Oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of these projects.
•    Impart a comprehensive range of knowledge and skills related to the organisation of large-scale entertainment events, concerts and festivals to both polytechnic students and adult learners,
•    Develop relevant teaching materials including crafting of assessments.
•    Enhance the quality of lesson design and delivery through implementing appropriate teaching and learning strategies, incorporating real-world examples from organising large-scale entertainment events, concerts and festivals.
•    Design, develop and deliver customised workshops for adult learners, drawing on experience in organising large-scale entertainment events.
•    Undertake additional duties as assigned and contribute to poly-wide/school-wide events and/or activities.

[What we are looking for]

•    Tertiary qualification(s) in Events Management, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Marketing or a related field.
•    Minimum 8 years of proven industry experience overseeing the management of large-scale entertainment events, concerts and festivals.

Additional experience in other event types including special events, corporate events, business/MICE events, and major sporting events is advantageous.
•    An extensive and strong network of contacts within the realm of large-scale entertainment events, concerts and festivals.
•    Self-starter mindset, agile learner, and passion for coaching and mentoring youths and adults.
•    Experience in developing a curriculum or providing training in a client-facing environment will be an advantage.
•    Possession of Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent qualifications is advantageous.
