Overview
The Yu Lab has an opening position for Scientist to join our team and contribute to innovative RNA-targeted therapeutic discovery.
We are a chemical biology lab dedicated to translational research targeting cellular nucleic acids.
This project is to engineer antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) for gene-selective regulation, paving the way for precision medicine.
By leveraging cutting-edge gene-targeting strategies, structural biology, sequencing technologies, and computational approaches, we aim to unlock RNA as a precise therapeutic target, addressing diseases linked to genomic dysregulation and undruggable pathways.
Contract length:
13-month contract for the first instance
Responsibilities
Lead the design and optimize RNA-targeting strategies in cells.
Lead in designing and conducting experiments related to CRISPR, small-molecule screening, and ASO development.
Perform molecular biology experiments, including CRISPR-based gene regulation, plasmid construction, stable cell line establishment, and RNA-seq library preparation.
Maintain lab operations, including reagent preparation, consumable ordering, budget tracking, and equipment maintenance.
Engage in literature reviews, research discussions, and collaborative projects.
Ensure project milestones are met and contribute to manuscript preparation.
Requirements
PhD degree in Biological Sciences, Chemical Biology, or related fields.
Experience in ASO design, molecular biology, cell culture, RNA biology, CRISPR, or sequencing technologies.
Strong organizational skills and a positive, eager-to-learn attitude.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment.
