MISSION
In the secondary level, under the authority of the head of the school who relies on the educational teams, the AEDs participate in the supervision and educational follow-up of the students.

The AEDs are placed under the responsibilitý of the CPEs who ensure the functioning of the school life service and organize the AEDs' timetable.

RESPONSABILITIES

The AEDs participate in the supervision and educational follow-up of the students and can ensure in particular:

  • The supervision of students from arrival to departure and in different contexts, such as recess, lunchtime, school outings, ensuring their safety and well-being,
  • Calling and recording student absences/late arrivals, and analyzing them in the student follow-up
  • Ensuring compliance with the school rules and safety regulations
  • Supervision of student detentions (Saturday morning)
  • Supervision and animation of the activities of the college students' home and the high school students' house,
  • Participation in any educational, sports, social, artistic or cultural activitý complementary to the teachings,
  • Assistance in the preparation and implementation of educational activities, in collaboration with teachers; help with study and homework,
  • Creating a positive learning environment by fostering a good school climate, encouraging respect and tolerance, and helping to promote student well-being,
  • Participating in the organization of examinations and competitions

I - Diplomas / Training / Experience required

  • A high school diploma is required,
  • Experience in animation or in accompanying teenagers is an advantage.

II - Skills required for the position

Knowledge:

  • Circular 2003-092 of 11/06/2003 concerning the status of the AED
  • The internal regulations of the establishment
  • French language proficiency preferred

-       Knowledge of the child and adolescents: 

  • Have a minimum of knowledge about adolescence and know how to position oneself (general knowledge about education, educational relationships and the exercise of educational authority)
  • Create the conditions for a climate of trust and listening
  • Manage student discipline and behaviour situations in an appropriate manner

-       Know-how:

  • Know how to apply the internal regulations
  • Know how to use professional digital tools
  • Know how to be organized and methodical

-       Know how to be:

  • Respect for the hierarchical relationship and loyalty to the institution; exemplary attitude
  • Professional and educational attitude
  • A constructive team player
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers and other staff members
Working conditions
  • Full time position (38 hours/week)
  • 14 weeks annual leave during school vacations (all school vacations minus 2 administrative weeks)

Dans le second degré, sous l’autorité du chef d’établissement qui s’appuie sur les équipes éducatives, les assistant(es) d'éducation (AED) participent à l’encadrement et au suivi éducatif des élèves.

Les AED sont placé(e)s sous la responsabilité́ des CPE (Conseiller Principal d’Education) qui assurent le fonctionnement du service de vie scolaire et organisent l’emploi du temps des AED. 

RESPONSABILITÉS

Les AED participent à l’encadrement et au suivi éducatif des élèves et peuvent assurer notamment :

  • L’encadrement des élèves de l’arrivée au départ des élèves et dans différents contextes, tels que les récréations, le temps de restauration, les sorties scolaires, en veillant à leur sécurité et à leur bien-être.
  • L’appel et l’enregistrement des absences/retards des élèves, et analyse dans le suivi élève 
  • Veiller au respect du règlement intérieur et des consignes de sécurité́ 
  • La surveillance des retenues des élèves (samedi matin)
  • L’encadrement et l’animation des activités du foyer des collégiens et de la maison des lycéens,
  • Participation à toute activité́ éducative, sportive, sociale, artistique ou culturelle complémentaire aux enseignements,
  • Une aide dans la préparation et dans la mise en oeuvre des activités pédagogiques, en collaboration avec les enseignants ; une aide à l’étude et aux devoirs,
  • La création d’un environnement d’apprentissage positif en favorisant un bon climat scolaire en encourageant le respect et la tolérance et en aidant à promouvoir le bien-être des élèves,
  • Participation à l’organisation des examens et concours

COMPÉTENCES, EXPÉRIENCE ET FORMATION REQUISES

I – Diplômes / Formation / Expérience requise 

  • Le diplôme du baccalauréat est exigé ;
  • Une expérience en animation ou en accompagnement d’adolescents est un atout.

  • Créer les conditions d’un climat de confiance et d’écoute
  • Gérer les situations de discipline et de comportement des élèves de manière appropriée

Savoir-faire

  • Savoir appliquer le règlement intérieur
  • Savoir utiliser les outils numériques professionnels
  • Savoir être organisé et méthodique

Savoir-être 

  • Respect du rapport hiérarchique et loyauté à l’institution ; attitude exemplaire
  • Posture professionnelle et éducative 
  • Un(e) collaborateur/trice d’équipe constructif
  • Capacité à collaborer avec les enseignants et les autres membres du personnel
