Our client is the corporate and investment banking arm of The Group, one of the world's largest banks by total assets.
The Singapore center, Information Systems Asia Pacific (ISAP), is a major IT hub supporting Production and Application Development with over 1000 IT staff across 30 countries.
The role is within the Capital Markets IT division, supporting Front Office, Sales, Risk Management, regulatory reporting, and related systems.
The team operates in a global, distributed context to deliver high-quality architecture and design for core banking services.
The position is based in Singapore, with collaboration across international engineering teams.
The role focuses on functional/technical support for eSales to assist Front Office Sales and Middle Office in their use of Sales Workflow applications relevant to revenue-generating activities and sales-trading interactions.
Responsibilities
- Application monitoring responsibilities: Define and implement needed application monitoring with build teams; manage end-user requests requiring investigations; supervise daily/monthly operational chains with project, infrastructure and production teams; support daily batches; manage KPIs and provide weekly/monthly reports to improve operational efficiency.
- Incidents and Requests management: Provide level 1 and 2 application support to business users; own incidents to resolution; manage business user requests and maintain the backlog; ensure incidents/requests are properly described with key information.
- Problem management and continuous improvement: Ensure proper problem management to identify root causes; coordinate with build teams on priorities and resolutions; contribute ideas for long-term solutions; provide non-functional requirements for monitoring as code; maintain knowledge bases.
- Providing functional and technical help around relevant systems to users worldwide: ensure correct Volume Credit/Markup calculations; platform administration related to system providers; handle STP issues; operate in a 24x7 follow-the-sun setup; comply with internal policies; manage customer relations; assist team members.
Mandatory Skills
- Pro-active mindset in security, incident prevention, productivity, and global service quality; strong interest in capital markets domain.
- Senior level with minimum 8 years of industry experience in support and/or development of applications, preferably in financial/banking sectors.
- Interest in Capital Markets (FX, fixed income, derivatives, equity); understanding of broker/clearing platforms and common market applications (e.g., Tradeweb, Murex, DTCC, LCH/JSCC; Bloomberg, Reuters).
- Knowledge of monitoring solutions (e.g., ITRS Geneos, Qokpit, Elastic, Splunk, Datadog); proactive, independent, able to work under tight deadlines; strong SQL skills; Unix/Linux scripting proficiency; SLA/KPI management and client communication; risk analysis and project execution; tendency toward continuous improvement and automation; strong time management and communication skills; willingness to participate in weekend/holiday coverage on a rotation basis.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- ITIL certification is an advantage but not compulsory.
- Technical proficiency in common languages (SQL, Java, Python, Unix/Windows commands).
- Knowledge in XML, PL/SQL, MQ, CFT and Control-M is a plus.
