The Programme Manager will be responsible for driving the strategic development and administration of the Centre for Cancer Prevention and Early Detection, a new Centre at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
This role is suited for a motivated, self-directed, and outcomes-focused professional with a strong background in research and research administration, ideally with experience in the cancer field.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of the Centre’s strategic plan in collaboration with the Centre Director and Deputy Directors.
Shape the Centre’s long-term direction and impact in cancer prevention and early detection, setting objectives, priorities, and timelines aligned with the broader Initiative goals.
Develop and manage relationships with stakeholders including academic institutions, healthcare organizations, research funders, philanthropic groups, government agencies, industry partners, and community groups.
Represent the Centre to enhance visibility and credibility of the Initiative.
Support collaboration, interdisciplinary engagement, and seek new funding and research opportunities.
Coordinate funding applications to agencies, partners, and philanthropies, including proposal development, documentation, and compliance.
Identify research opportunities by monitoring literature, trends, breakthroughs, and gaps relevant to the Centre’s focus.
Provide administrative and research support to facilitate the Centre’s operations, including grant management.
Organize events to showcase research achievements and educational initiatives.
Identify education gaps and opportunities, focusing on market demand, financial viability, and strategic alignment.
Evaluate healthcare and biomedical trends to develop relevant course offerings addressing workforce needs.
Collaborate on course and degree proposal development and monitor approval processes.
Manage budgets supporting research and education initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Monitor financial performance, prepare reports, and support sustainability efforts.
Produce reports and presentations from stakeholder data to inform decisions and highlight achievements.
Key Competencies and Educational Requirements:
Educational Qualification(s): Master’s Degree or PhD in healthcare, cancer, or related fields.
Knowledge Required: Research and grant administration policies, research funding management, programme development, and strategic healthcare initiatives.
Relevant Experience: Healthcare professional training needs, minimum 5 years in research or higher education in health-related fields.
Skills & Competencies: Organizational, communication, strategic planning, budgeting, and people management skills.
Personal Attributes: Collaborative, resourceful, adaptable, with strong relational skills for stakeholder engagement.
