Role and Responsibilities
Manage the end‐to‐end migration process from Informatica PowerCenter (CDI PC) to Informatica IDMC, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Design, create and manage mappings, workflows and Secure Agents in Informatica IDMC.
Integrate data from internal and external sources into AWS and Databricks environments, guaranteeing data consistency and quality.
Develop, cleanse, transform and enrich data using Databricks Spark and Informatica IDMC for analytical use.
Monitor and optimize data processing and query performance in AWS and Databricks.
Implement security best practices and data encryption to protect sensitive data in cloud environments, while ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
Use Informatica IDMC for data governance, compliance and metadata management.
Maintain clear, comprehensive documentation of data infrastructure, pipelines, configurations and metadata.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts and software engineers to understand data requirements and deliver solutions across AWS, Databricks and Informatica IDMC.
Identify and resolve data‐related issues and provide support for data availability and integrity.
Optimize resource usage in AWS, Databricks and Informatica IDMC to control costs while meeting performance and scalability goals.
Stay current with AWS, Databricks and Informatica IDMC services, recommending and implementing new technologies and techniques.
Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 6 years of data engineering experience with expertise in AWS/Azure services, Databricks and Informatica IDMC.
Hands‐on experience in all phases of the project lifecycle, having driven at least four project cycles.
Experience with AWS services focussed on ETL and data processing, and with Informatica PowerCenter, IDMC, and Informatica Cloud Data Integration for PowerCenter (CDI‐PC).
Strong understanding of data integration concepts, ETL processes and data quality management.
Proven ability to design and implement ETL data mappings, transformations and workflows.
Capability to evaluate technical solutions and recommend remedies for performance issues, especially for complex data transformations and long‐running processes.
Strong business‐intelligence data‐model design skills and proficiency in BI tools such as Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) and Tableau.
Solid knowledge of Oracle SQL and NoSQL databases, with key SQL skills for Oracle, Teradata and MS‐SQL Server.
Working knowledge of BI scripting languages: Python, C#, Java, VBA.
Excellent problem‐solving, analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and teamwork orientation.
AWS Associate, AWS Professional or AWS Specialty certification preferred.
Databricks, IDMC and Tableau certifications a plus.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Informatica IDMC for data governance and data cataloguing.
Understanding of DevOps principles for managing and deploying data pipelines.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
