Overview:
The Buyer ensures materials and services are sourced and delivered on time, at optimal cost, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
She/he will collaborate with cross-functional teams including planning, production, engineering, and finance, while managing supplier relationships to support business continuity, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Description:
- Develop and implement comprehensive strategies for the procurement, storage, and distribution of goods and services to optimize operational efficiency.
- Conduct thorough research and evaluation of suppliers, negotiate favorable contracts, and cultivate strong vendor relationships to ensure reliability and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze market trends, pricing dynamics, and product quality to secure the best value and align purchasing decisions with organizational goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments to accurately forecast demand, plan inventory levels, and ensure the timely delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor and control inventory to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce excess, and minimize waste.
- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process from requisition through delivery, ensuring full compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements to enhance overall procurement efficiency.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to junior purchasing team members to foster professional development and strengthen team capabilities.
- Stay informed on evolving industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to maintain a competitive edge and ensure operational excellence.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or purchasing.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in vendor management and supplier relationship management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
