Responsibilities
Provide in-depth ceramics tutoring and guidance for all ceramics classes, inclusive of special technique classes;
Ability to design lesson outlines for ceramic classes;
Ability to sets up, clean, and demonstrate the use of pottery equipment and instruments safely and effectively, inclusive of kiln loading and unloading, and firing of ceramic pieces;
Design and produce AIA ceramic products for retail and commercial purposes
Plan exhibitions and events which includes artist workshops;
Oversees and manages studio inventory, approving or facilitating purchases as needed;
Monitor and ensure a clean and safe working environment, with regular upkeep of work area, equipment, supplies, and materials;
Any other assigned ad-hoc duties.
Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates with a minimum 2-years experience with ceramics teaching or equivalent
Has a diploma or degree in 3D art-related qualifications, especially pottery
Possess advanced knowledge of ceramics (Throwing, Trimming, Glazing, Slip Casting, Recycling Clay)
Should be able to make sake sets and teapot sets
Experience in Raku Firing and Wood Firing will be an advantage
Passionate about working in the ceramics industry
Meticulous, good organizational and documentation skills
Should possess good leaderships skills, and has the ability to effectively manage a team
Good communication skills and enjoy interacting with both customers
Willing to work over the weekends and public holidays
