Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our data team at National Healthcare Group.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in building, and maintaining robust data pipelines and analytics products using Tableau and Databricks to support healthcare decision-making across our network of healthcare institutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop comprehensive dashboards and interactive reports using Tableau to support clinical operations, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic decision-making
Collaborate with clinical teams, administrators, and stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate business needs into technical solutions
Develop, maintain and troubleshoot scalable data orchestration/etl pipelines using Databricks to process large volumes of healthcare data from multiple sources including electronic health records, clinical systems, and operational databases
Optimise data storage solutions and implement best practices for data governance, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations
Technical Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor junior data engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices for data engineering and analytics
Work closely with institutional data scientists, and analysts to facilitate onboarding into the central unified data platform
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical field
Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering roles with demonstrated expertise in building enterprise-scale data solutions
At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Databricks platform including Delta Lake, Apache Spark, and MLflow
Minimum 3 years of experience developing complex dashboards and reports using Tableau
Technical Skills
Proficiency in programming languages including Python and SQL for data processing and pipeline development
Familiarity with Tableau and Databricks.
Familiarity with Informatica and SageMaker is a bonus but not critical
Some understanding of government commercial cloud platforms, preferably AWS
knowledge of healthcare data standards such as HL7 FHIR, DICOM, and experience working with clinical data systems will be an advantage but not critical
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and healthcare compliance requirements including PDPA and relevant healthcare regulations will be an advantage but not critical
Soft Skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail in handling sensitive healthcare data
Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Preferred Qualifications
Bach's degree in a relevant technical field or healthcare informatics
Tableau certification (Tableau Desktop Specialist or higher)
Databricks certification in Data Engineering or Machine Learning
Experience with healthcare analytics, population health management, or clinical quality improvement initiatives
Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and experience implementing ML solutions in healthcare settings
