Senior data engineers at Thoughtworks are responsible for building, maintaining, and testing the software architecture and infrastructure that underpins data applications.
They develop core data platform capabilities, ensuring timely delivery and high quality.
Due to the project requirement, candidates must be Singaporean citizens or already hold Singaporean Permanent Residency (PR) at the time of application.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and operate modern data architecture approaches to meet key business objectives and provide end‑to‑end data solutions.
- Design intricate data processing pipelines to address the most challenging client problems.
- Collaborate with data scientists to design scalable implementations of their models.
- Write clean, iterative code using TDD and leverage continuous delivery practices to deploy, support, and operate data pipelines.
- Work with a variety of distributed storage and computing technologies.
- Develop data models using appropriate techniques and implement them in the chosen technology stack.
- Collaborate on data governance, security, and privacy.
- Incorporate data quality practices into day‑to‑day work.
Job Qualifications – Technical Skills
- Experience building and operating data pipelines within distributed systems.
- Hands‑on experience with data modeling and modern data engineering tools and platforms.
- Strong coding skills in a preferred programming language.
- Experience deploying large‑scale data pipelines and data‑centric applications in production environments.
- Knowledge of data visualization techniques and the ability to communicate insights.
- Experience applying data security and privacy strategies to solve business problems.
- Strengths in Databricks, AWS, and Python.
- Experience with multiple database types (SQL, NoSQL, data lake, data schemas, etc.).
