Description
The Senior Director, Site Operations will lead the strategic and operational oversight of one or more data center campuses in Asia Pacific.
This executive role is responsible for driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and compliance across all facilities.
The Senior Director will champion the adoption and integration of data center automation technologies to enhance reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
The role collaborates cross-functionally with Engineering, Construction, Reliability, EHS, and Customer Experience teams to ensure Vantage’s standards for safety, security, availability, and innovation are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Execution
Define and execute regional operations strategy aligned with global objectives.
Lead and mentor senior site operations leaders and cross-functional teams.
Represent Vantage at the regional level, including government, regulatory, and customer engagements.
Operational Excellence & Automation
Drive the implementation of data center automation platforms to optimize monitoring, alerting, and predictive maintenance.
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs using CMMS and integrated automation tools.
Ensure best-in-class performance across all operational KPIs including uptime, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Champion the use of telemetry, AI-driven analytics, and automated workflows to reduce manual intervention and improve response times.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as executive sponsor for key customer relationships in the region.
Support sales and business development efforts through site tours, RFP input, and operational readiness.
Financial & Compliance Oversight
Own regional operations budget, capital planning, and cost optimization.
Ensure full compliance with ISO standards, local regulations, and Vantage policies.
Partner with EHS to foster a culture of safety and accountability.
Talent & Culture
Build and scale high-performing teams through recruitment, development, and succession planning.
Champion a culture of collaboration, innovation, and operational ownership.
Promote continuous learning and upskilling in automation technologies and digital tools.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
15+ years of experience in critical infrastructure or data center operations.
10+ years of senior leadership experience managing large, distributed teams.
Proven success in scaling operations across multiple sites or regions.
Deep understanding of data center automation systems, building management systems (BMS), and AI-driven operational platforms.
Strong understanding of physical security, compliance, and risk management in critical environments.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
Experience leading through transformation and change.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and building automation systems.
Willingness to travel occasionally (<20-30%)
