Overview
The role focuses on process engineering electromechanical design deliverables and ensuring reliable operation of process systems.
Responsibilities cover design, change control, and the integration of electrical, mechanical, and software components across projects.
Responsibilities
Responsible for process engineering electromechanical design related deliverables such as Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Block Flow Diagrams (BFDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and Utility flow diagrams for different process and utility systems
Lead and manage change control, Deviations and CAPA’s related to process engineering
Responsible for P&ID preparation, writing Sequence of Operation and workflow for process systems like DI Water System, Exhaust System, Water Treatment Plant system, including maintaining high system availability for Business supported process systems & applications
Ensuring flawless execution of new process system installs, upgrades and enhancements within allotted budget and schedule
Development of process control strategies e.g. Advanced Process Control with multivariable controller`s incl.
the development of the dynamic model for different production processes
Design and Architect project proposals for systems upgrade/replacement options, manage enhancements and capital related upgrades for local systems / applications
Design and Architect PLC system to meet product/solution requirements/specifications with consideration of safety, speed, and reliability
Support R&D and technology roadmap including the selection of PLC components and systems, tools and software
Design Schematics – prepare schematics that show how electrical and mechanical components and panels work together to accomplish a process.
Examine existing drawings for reliability and manufacturability
System drawing preparation using AutoCAD tool for electrical and mechanical design
Write and Document Programs documentation for the program’s intended use and safety instructions
Test Programs - Determine test criteria, and test the new program for reliability and safety with automation equipment.
This includes testing programs and equipment developed by third parties
Install Programs - Overseeing and ensuring the successful installation of PLC programs and providing guidance and support to technicians during the installation process
Technical Support - Provide technical support to internal users and outside customers, both verbally and by writing or revising operation manuals.
Help to troubleshoot the program and create solutions
Participate in the concept and design of mechanical modules, sub-assembly, etc.
for use with/by robot arms
Create and maintain PLC-related controlled documentation (logics & functional schematics, state machine, scenarios, sequencing, technical/operational/maintenance)
Traveling to clients' locations and meeting with clients to discuss their mechanical or electrical automation needs when needed
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics & instrumentation Engineering or Electrical and Mechanical work background; relevant experience will also be considered
Minimum 8+ years in, familiar with the intersection of electrical, mechanical, and software architecture and engineering principles
Good foresight and strong analytical thinking skills that allow troubleshooting and problem avoidance
Familiar with Profibus, Profinet, DeviceNet, EthernetIP etc.
Hands-on experience with Schneider PLC, Siemens PLC, Allen Bradley PLC
Familiar with robotics brands such as ABB, KUKA, STAUBLI, UR or FANUC would be a plus
Experience in process engineering design related deliverables, technical specifications, and engineering design calculations for process and utility equipment
Knowledge of software design principles
Independent and self-motivated with good initiative and communication skills
Ability to travel when required
