Overview
This role entails providing technical and administrative oversight of site automation and IT systems, including their day-to-day operation, maintenance, and involvement in minor projects.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Acting as the technical owner and subject matter expert (SME) for site automation systems. Preparing, reviewing, and approving SOPs, work procedures, and quality documentation related to automation. Managing corrective and preventive maintenance (CMs and PMs) for automation and facility-level IT and AV systems, such as Building Management Systems (BMS), Environmental Monitoring Systems (EMS), fire alarms, security systems, and supporting IT infrastructure. Ensuring service and maintenance contracts meet performance standards, including regular contractor evaluations for continual improvement. Supporting scheduled maintenance shutdowns. Serving as the SME for automation and related IT systems during audits and regulatory inspections. Leading or supporting capital expenditure (CapEx) improvement projects. Planning and managing human and financial resources. Driving and supporting EHS best practices. Requirements
Diploma in Engineering or IT with at least 8 years of experience, or a Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Strong expertise in PLC and SCADA systems (e.g., Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Siemens, Schneider). Proficient in automation communication protocols (e.g., Modbus RTU/TCP, Profibus DP/PA, Profinet, SQL, OPC). Solid understanding of computer networking. Awareness of current automation and IT technology trends. Experience with integrated AV systems is an advantage. Capable of working in a diverse, fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Leadership experience with the ability to collaborate across functions even with limited direct reports. Skilled in managing both internal teams and external contractors. Minimum 3 years of experience managing contractors in a cGMP-regulated facility. Familiarity with cGMP standards is preferred. Proactive, eager to learn, and committed to continuous improvement. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
