Senior / Engineering Assistant (Electrical), Facilities Management (2 Year Contract)
The Engineering Assistant (Electrical) shall report to the Engineer and assist in the execution and management of FM services, such as operation, maintenance, modification, replacement and other activities under Electrical Engineering services and non-clinical equipment.
The incumbent shall provide support to audit and monitor the prescribed KPIs of the maintenance services rendered by specialist vendors and outsourced maintenance service providers, and support, implement and manage cyclical and improvement projects by both the department and hospital.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist the engineer or manager in overseeing preventive & corrective maintenance scheduling & coordination work.
- Manage Maintenance Agent or Specialist Contractor day-to-day works for electrical systems such as High Tension Panels, LV Main Switchboard, Emergency Main Switchboards, Transformers, Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), Generators and all sub-boards / emergency sub-boards.
- Oversee the performance of outsourced maintenance service providers and specialist vendors to ensure good maintenance standards are maintained and planned PM schedules are met.
- Ensure prompt service recovery for any breakdown of equipment and systems to minimize disruption to hospital service operations.
- Coordinate improvement projects to hospital services and facilities, including upgrading of systems and equipment components.
- Provide advisory and support to the maintenance team in addressing and rectifying specialized system failures and troubleshooting, and recommend system condemnation and replacements as necessary.
- Prepare technical specifications and drawings for system improvements and draft cost estimates and work schedule for project execution.
- Oversee outsourced maintenance team safety practice and work conduct and ensure good maintenance standards are implemented.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the HOD.
Job Requirement
Education / Training / Experience
- Diploma or Higher Nitec/Nitec in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 1‑4 years of experience or ITE graduate with at least 5 years’ Electrical system experience.
- At least 5‑6 years of experience or ITE graduate with at least 8 years’ Electrical system experience for a senior position.
- Familiar with design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical systems & equipment.
- Prior experience in management of electrical services and facilities operation as well as improvement projects is an advantage.
- Prior working experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage.
- Conversant in reading and interpreting architectural and M&E schematic drawings.
- Conversant in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD; ability to use 3D perspective drawing software such as BIM is an added advantage.
