What the role is:
You will be part of the Strategic Communications & Media team, which is responsible for the development and execution of integrated strategic communications and media plans for the Ministry of Law (MinLaw).
SCM is one of the three units within the Communications and Engagement Division (CED) in MinLaw.
What you will be working on:
Communications Strategy and Planning: Strategise and formulate integrated public communications and engagement plans to support MinLaw's policy objectives.
Media Outreach: Initiate and organise proactive media outreach efforts, such as media briefings, interviews, pitching of stories, and on-ground media management at events, while ensuring the effectiveness of these outreach efforts.
Content Development: Prepare content for materials such as press releases, factsheets, speeches, replies to media queries, infographics, videos, interview briefs and other publicity materials for both traditional and digital media platforms.
Working with stakeholders: To support the management of the appointed PR/Comms, as well as coordinating with internal and external partners on all publicity matters.
This would also comprise setting up relevant meetings and note-taking.
Sense-making: Monitor, analyse and red team announcements, events and prevailing public opinion on traditional and digital media platforms, so as to advise and recommend the appropriate response.
Other responsibilities: To support the day-to-day functions of the department, including transcribing, website matters, putting up media coverage reports etc.

Key Competencies
(Media Analytics & Sensing): Monitor media activities and reports to assess potential ramifications and recommend suitable response.
(Message Framing & Delivery): Craft and deliver messages in a manner that is aligned to communications strategy and objectives while considering different target audiences.
(Media Relations): Develop media engagement strategies and foster media relationships to manage media responses and further agency's organisational goals.
(Communications Strategy): Develop communications strategies and programmes to support agency leaders and policy-makers in achieving policy/agency/ national objectives.
Work Experience / Technical Skills / Personal Traits
2 – 8 years’ work experience in corporate communications, media relations, public relations, advertising or journalism.
Strong stakeholder management skills, with ability to build consensus.
Able to multi-task and prioritise workload.
Strong command of English; able to adapt writing style and tone based on platforms and target audience.
It will be a bonus to also have strong vernacular language capabilities and be able to translate and analyse media articles.
Strong analytical skills, with ability to apply them to come up with sound and informed recommendations.
Excellent communicator.
Strong team player with good interpersonal skills.
Driven and self-motivated, possess a positive attitude to work.
Meticulous with attention to detail.
