Overview
The Nanyang Business School (NBS) is looking for a Senior Executive to support the Undergraduate Programmes Office (UPO) in the critical function of curriculum planning and operations.
This role is involved in academic planning, coordination and administering of various academic programs to enable a meaningful and impactful student experience for all undergraduates in the following areas: Special/Joint Programmes, Semester Timetabling, Course Registration and Curriculum Planning, and other related duties.
Responsibilities
- Special/Joint Programmes: Assist with the management of Double-Degree, 2nd Major and Minor programmes; coordinate with partnering colleges and schools on vacancy reservation and course registration; ensure information and programme structures are accurately reflected on website and intranet; provide student support on programme requirements, course planning, and other academic-related matters; track students’ academic progress; work with the Assessment Team to verify award of double-degree, 2nd Major and Minor; manage students’ withdrawal from these programmes; negotiate strategic decisions with partner colleges; establish strong working relationships with partner colleges and schools to enhance workflow efficiency and streamline processes.
- Semester Timetabling: Coordinate with divisions, partner colleges and schools on timetabling arrangements, resource and teaching allocations; demonstrate willingness to meet deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.
- Course Registration and Curriculum Planning: Provide course planning advice to students; assist with students’ course registration requests; assist with CR documentations and records update; manage and provide timely updates on NBS Intranet (Course Outline, Course Catalogue, Course Curriculum, Programme Structure, etc.); anticipate unexpected changes or demanding requests from stakeholders and analyze and provide solutions; Option Group and ICC allocation.
- Others: Assist in shared administrative duties to facilitate office operations (e.g., managing undergraduate e-mailboxes); review and improve work processes and maintain SOPs; maintain proper documentation and archival of information; support ad-hoc projects and assist in events such as Open House and Convocation; other duties as assigned by the Reporting Officer; foster continuous and effective communication with partner schools and NTU departments to ensure strategic decision-making that benefits all stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma holder.
- Related qualifications and/or working experiences in higher education sector are advantageous.
- Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and MS Teams.
- Able to multitask and work under pressure.
- Able to exercise discretion in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Proactive and tactful team player with the ability to interact well with people from all levels.
- Possess good critical thinking and communication skills, and a positive learning attitude.
- Mature, self-motivated, meticulous, and adaptive.
