The Senior Executive plays a critical role in providing payroll administration support for the University and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees within the organization.
He/She oversees the end-to-end payroll administration, ensures compliance to statutory requirements, government legislation and group policies and standards, supports reporting needs and attends to queries from staff and stakeholders.
Job Description
Manage payroll function including the monthly payroll processing for both full time and part time staff, statutory contributions, tax filing and period end closing activities of assigned entities
Process payroll-related payments including but not limited to education allowances, passage claims and other miscellaneous payments
Perform finance related activities including but not limited to journal entries, reclassifications, and general ledger (GL) postings.
Ensure payroll calculations, including salary, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, are accurate and in compliance with statutory requirements, government legislation and group policies and standards
Ensure all payroll-related tax filings and reporting requirements are met accurately and on time
Prepare and maintain regular and ad hoc requests of management reports/data by staff and/or entities
Provide payroll related information for internal and external audits
Address employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, taxes, and deductions
Educate employees on payroll-related policies and procedures
Ensure the confidentiality of payroll data
Ensure service levels and targets are consistent with standards and timeliness, and service is delivered to customers in accordance with pre-defined Service Level Agreement
Support in various payroll related projects and initiatives
Requirements
A Diploma or Degree preferably in Accountancy, Business, Human Resources or its equivalent.
Preferably 2 or more years of working experience in handling payroll.
Some experience in finance matters, with accounting knowledge, will be an advantage.
Strong knowledge and application of Employment Act and other manpower-related regulations
Organized, meticulous in handling data and a service-oriented mind-set
A team player with good working attitude and is willing to learn and adapt.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications especially Excel is a must
