Overview
NIE invites suitable applications for the position of Senior Executive, Student Services Centre in the Office of Academic Administration & Services.
The Student Services Centre (SSC) delivers high-quality, integrated services that support students from admission through graduation and beyond.
We are looking for a motivated and service-oriented individual to join our SSC.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students and alumni by delivering efficient, accurate and high-quality services.
Responsibilities
You will oversee a comprehensive suite of student-facing services, ensuring seamless operations, high service standards, and a consistently positive experience for students, alumni, and faculty.
You will lead process improvements, champion service innovations, and guide the team to deliver accurate, timely, and student-centric solutions across admissions, scholarships, financial assistance, insurance schemes, and other key service areas.
- Attend to a wide range of student and alumni enquiries via counter, email and phone, providing timely and accurate assistance.
- Deliver quality frontline services such as fee collection, issuance of status letters, and replacement of certificates and transcripts.
- Process payments received via bank transfer and at the SSC counter, and update records in the SAP system.
- Maintain and update SSC-related information in the NIE Student Portal.
- Support student admissions and matriculation exercises, including student pass processing, student concession card applications and document verification.
- Administer Medical, Group Personal Accident (GPA), and Group Hospital & Surgical (GHS) insurance schemes — including claims handling, budgeting and invoice processing.
- Assist in administering student scholarships and financial assistance schemes — from application calls, checking for completeness of documents and eligibility checks to processing and award.
- Support the SSC Manager in preparing the SSC annual budget.
- Assist the Budget Manager with departmental budgeting matters.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and initiatives
- Undertake any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A Polytechnic Diploma.
- At least 2 – 3 years of relevant experience in providing a broad range of student services within a university or similar educational environment.
- Service-oriented, with a strong passion for delivering excellent customer experiences to students and alumni.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritise effectively, meet deadlines, and produce accurate, high-quality and detail-oriented work.
- Possess strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgement and the ability to make timely decisions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with process automation or Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools will be an advantage.
- Demonstrates professionalism, discretion, and adherence to institutional policies and confidentiality requirements.
- This role requires overtime support once a week.
