The Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) is a dedicated team committed to delivering comprehensive support across the entire student life cycle—from admission and matriculation to graduation and beyond the classroom.
SASD works collaboratively with schools, colleges, and autonomous institutes to ensure a seamless and enriching academic journey for all students.
This position sits with the Student Affairs Office (SAO), which is one of the pillars within SASD.
The SAO plays a key role in promoting students' personal growth through curricular activities and a spectrum of student-led activities including leadership development initiatives, residential hall programmes, community engagement, arts & culture and sports development initiatives.
The successful candidate will contribute to broader initiatives aimed at enhancing students' experience through sports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and enhance the relevance, inclusivity, and impact of student club activities and events, while mentoring student leaders on effective program execution.
Support SAO's Sports Development team in managing various sports development events and initiatives.
This includes but is not limited to:
Planning and executing workshops for student leaders, large-scale sports-related events etc.
- Provide administrative and logistical support to the varsity sports teams and/or student events.
- For example: hiring of Part-Time Instructors, student helpers, processing of grants, claims, donations, and sponsorship to student sports organisations.
- Manages procurement of goods, services and equipment required for the initiatives.
- Identify and evaluate risks associated with student activities, offering informed guidance to safeguard learning outcomes and well-being of participants.
- Coordinate with the Sports and Recreation Centre and Office of Campus Housing on facility and equipment bookings for on-campus training sessions and competitions.
- Oversee the creation and dissemination of promotional content across Student Sports' digital platforms, including the website and social media channels such as Telegram, Instagram, and Facebook.
- Support in compiling data related to sports development initiatives/events (e.g. participation rate for sports events, athletes' competition records) for reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Support any other projects/ duties and/or offer on-site support across various parts of the campus as assigned
Requirements:
- Entry-level candidates who possess a diploma/degree in sports science and management or related disciplines.
Diploma holders with at least 2-4 years of work experience in student affairs, event coordination or sports-related industry/roles are welcome to apply.
- Ability to commit to irregular hours on weekday evenings/ weekends as and when required to support students' events.
- Prior involvement in managing student clubs, varsity teams, or large-scale campus events is highly advantageous.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage concurrent programs and administrative duties.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, staff, and external vendors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with digital platforms (e.g., Telegram, Instagram, Facebook) for publicity and outreach.
- Passionate about student development and sports engagement.
- A proactive team player with a collaborative mindset.
- Detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work independently.
- Adaptable to dynamic campus environments and evolving student needs.
