This role will sit within our IT Operations Division – Systems Management team.
- Design, implement, and maintain Windows-based systems and infrastructure, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Objects (GPO) for Critical Information Infrastructure (CII)
- Ensure compliance, service uptime, quality, and resilience of Windows platforms through Day 2 Operations
- Execute migrations from existing Windows platforms to newer versions or cloud-based solutions
- Implement continuous improvements to reduce toil, optimise performance, and align with industry standards whilst adopting modernisation with minimal impact
- Develop and manage automation scripts and PowerShell modules to streamline operations and improve efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, providing clear communication, comprehensive documentation, and regular reporting on system status and projects
- Implement configuration management following industry standards such as CIS
Requirements:
- A relevant university degree with at least 3 years of relevant working experience
- Proven experience in Windows system administration and engineering, particularly with Windows Server and associated technologies
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Object (GPO) management
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation tools
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware / OpenStack)
- Familiarity with version control systems, configuration management tools, and cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Experience in supporting critical systems and implementing security best practices
- Experience in implementing configuration standards (e.g. CIS) with drift management
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g. MCSA, MCSE) are beneficial
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong service-oriented mindset with focus on operational excellence
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies and adapting to evolving IT landscapes
