About the role
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Manager, Business Development for South-East Asia & Taiwan (SEAT) to be based in Singapore.
This is a key role to identify – based on South-East Asia & Taiwan (SEAT) Must Win strategy and business needs – opportunities for business development, strategic partnerships in the areas of in-licensing, sales collaboration, mergers & acquisitions and other strategic alliances.
This role will be on a 2-year contract with Haleon, offering the potential for conversion to a permanent position based on performance during the contract period.
The Senior Manager for Business Development, under the guidance of the SEAT Acceleration Lead, will work hand-in-hand with the global Business Development & Licensing (BD&L) and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) team, to define local inorganic growth strategy, progress target identification, negotiations and execution.
The role works closely with the local commercial teams to identify high potential targets, partners, consider potential deal structures that are most beneficial to the company and drive due diligence and negotiations with the potential local partners.
For example, following the SEAT Acceleration Plan inorganic focus, tackle Hunting Grounds with prioritization on rolling basis and consider if better to acquire or establish licensing-type partnership with lower upfront cost & risk.
The Senior Manager for Business Development works across commercial and support functions to consider all local commercial aspects for potential deals and provide strategic recommendations – from business case development to end-to-end project management, including coordination and alignment of local and global legal and compliance assessment.
The role needs to actively engage with cross-functional teams within Haleon including senior regional and global stakeholders, category marketing, finance, legal, compliance, supply chain and others, as well as with stakeholders from (potential) external partners.
The role also enables the execution and delivery of the value of the alliance portfolio (e.g., in-licensing agreements, development partnerships etc.) across the full lifecycle through effectively influencing key internal and external stakeholders associated with alliance initiatives/partnered projects; helping the commercial leaders establish clear objectives and accountability for alliances; ensuring that the goals which founded the creation of the collaboration are delivered; establishing mutual trust and transparency with the collaboration partner, and proactively diagnosing problems, as well as developing solutions that maximize joint value by exploring the underlying interests (needs, goals, constraints) of each party.
