About the Role:
The Quantum Innovation Centre at A*STAR is seeking a Senior Optomechanical Engineer to join our team in developing advanced quantum sensors for real-world applications.
This role offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of quantum technology in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design of custom optomechanical assemblies and magnetic field coils, ensuring thermal requirements are met.
Collaborate with physicists and electronics engineers to package quantum sensors into practical form factors.
Supervise and mentor junior engineers, guiding best practices and technical development.
Coordinate with cross-functional engineering teams for system integration and performance.
Support the transition of prototypes into deployable, real-world systems.
Document project progress and prepare reports as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Optical Physics, Applied Physics, or related fields.
At least 5 years of relevant industry experience or a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related fields.
Expertise in at least one of the following: custom optomechanical design, optical alignment and tolerance analysis, design of magnetic field coils, thermal analysis.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proven ability to work independently and in team environments within fast-paced R&D settings.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
